The Beast Who Was, Is Not, but Will Be

Those of us who know we’re in the End Times are watching for a covertly deceitful man, who will be fully revealed in due time. He is one who will come in covertly, make and then break an agreement. Many people remain skeptical of the Abraham Accords agreement—an agreement quite unlike any other; yet, other people feel it does not relate at all to the End or the “Beast” who will come in the End Times.

Bible scholars often use Daniel and Revelation to study eschatology. While many people say Daniel’s visions were fulfilled about 300 years after he wrote the prophecy, through the actions of Antiochus Epiphanies IV, Daniel confirms several times that his visions are reserved specifically for the End Time: “Understand that the vision concerns the time of the End”; “…at the time of the End…”; and: “Go your way, Daniel, because these words are sealed until the time of the End” (Dan.  8:17; 12:9; 11:35). Very plain; Daniel’s visions concern the End Time.

What Daniel wrote sounds like Antiochus’ reign, however; it’s hard to ignore such parallels. (Some Protestants might not know of him, unless they’ve read the Book of Maccabees, have studied Jewish History, know about world Empires, or study the works of the first century historian, Josephus.) However, Daniel’s visions were of the End time.

But, are we forbidden to look at Antiochus-Epiphanies IV, as the shadow of what will come in the End? Mark Twain once said, “History does not repeat, but it does mirror.” History can also be the future’s shadow—not a fully recognizable figure, only partial.

Consider the remark made in Revelation: “The Beast that you saw, once was, and is not, but is to come—and the whole world will be amazed” (Rev. 17:8,11).  So, perhaps from examining Antiochus’ history and his abominable actions during his reign we might uncover a new layer to what we know of the Evil one who will come in the End.

In Daniel’s ninth chapter (verse 24) he provides an overview of history, from his time until the end. Daniel (9): *seventy sevens are decreed for your holy city to finish transgression, to end sin and atone for wickedness… Dan (8): “This vision concerns the Time of the End”; “At the appointed time”. Dan (9): *to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy”. Two chapters later (Daniel 11), in another vision, he supplies details regarding a succession of some “kings of the north”. Without diverting themes too much, suffice it to say that the Dead Sea’s “Enochian writings” have overwhelmingly convinced me (years ago) that “North” in prophecy means the Abyss, or the dwelling place reserved for demons.

The prophets, Revelation, the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, 2 Thess. and Jude also contain details of what is to come in the END. But, let’s first examine primarily Daniel and Revelation for traits of the evil spirited man and the source of his power and authority. The man, “the Beast who once WAS…but IS NOT (in the first century); yet, is to come, arising from the Abyss”, receives it from satan.

Daniel (7) describes a terrifying “fourth beast (kingdom)”; described as “unlike all the previous seen before it.” Since Earth is the place where satan is confined in the End (Rev 12:13), can any human empire on earth be compared to the one coming from the Abyss? Indeed, it CAN NOT be compared to any that previously existed on earth.

Dan (7); Rev (17): the ten horns (upon his head) are ten kings who have not yet received power…but will, along with the Beast (the man we research). Rev (9); Joel (2): (satan) is king over the ones called “hornets who torment” who will come and invade Zion. *Their king is the angel of the Abyss. *His name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek Apollyon (the Destroyer).

Revelation (12,13,17) describes Daniel’s vision of the fourth beast: having seven heads and ten horns—again, he is NOT the man we are researching. He is the one who gives him authority and a Thorne; the prince of demons; the fallen angel since before the time of Adam and Eve—satan.

Revelation (12,16,17) calls him *a Dragon, *a red Dragon, and *a flying, scarlet/fiery Beast covered in blasphemous names. In the End he is confined on earth, and can no longer “roam about seeking whom he might devour”, or “stand near the angels at the throne of God (Job 1:6-8; Zech 3) to accuse the brethren”. Rather, when he is cast upon the earth, he knows his time is short—and he reeks havoc.

Satan is a Deceiver, an Accuser and a Destroyer. He seeks to lie and gain allies; to kill, steal and destroy. He will continue his rage towards those who revere The One God and His Word. Daniel (7); Rev (12,16,17): satan is associated with seven heads and ten horns *the (Dragon’s) ten horns are ten kings *after (those horns/kings) arise a small horn

Dan (7,11): He begins small. Rev (13): And the Dragon gave him his power and throne. The small horn uproots three (kings) as it arises. He is the man of the End we’re researching—the one who makes and then breaks an agreement. The one who might already be lurking in the shadows of history, to be revealed in our era.

Dan (7); Rev (13): The small horn of Daniel’s vision of the “fourth (satan’s) kingdom”—has traits of the three kingdoms that existed before it. Namely, the: *lion, leopard, and bear. Revelation’s (13): The beast receiving authority from the Dragon *was like a leopard, with *feet like a bear, and *a mouth like a lion. Using other scriptures, these animals seem to represent: the powerful Nimrod of Babylon, the Pharaoh of Egypt who “forgot Joseph”, and Sennacherib of Assyria, who carried away the 10 tribes of northern Israel—as based upon Isaiah (11, 65); Jer. (4, 5); Hos. (7, 13); Amos (5) & Songs (4), et.al.

Daniel (8) Also speaks of another animal that begins small but grows in power, and he seems somehow related to Daniel’s other visions of the End time deceitful man. Daniel is given the interpretation: “The shaggy goat you saw is the kingdom of Greece.” Again, we turn to the history of Antiochus IV.

At the height of its power, the Greek-Macedonian kingdom of Alexander the Great covered the kingdoms (animals) that are implied in Revelation 13 and Daniel 7: Babylon, Assyria, Egypt—and even more.

Dan (8): Its prominent horn was broken off and grew to the four winds. As Alexander’s kingdom ended, he divided it among his four generals. One branch became the Seleucid dynasty—from which came Antiochus-Epiphanies IV, a “king of the north” (using Israel’s perspective).

When Antiochus-Epiphanies IV received his kingdom, he got “Babylon and its surrounding nations, including Assyria.” Later, he also gained Egypt—all three of the prior kingdoms that Daniel saw in animal form.

Backtrack a moment to the prince of the Abyss and the man of the End associated with him, from which he received his throne and authority. Revelation (17) *the Flying, Scarlet beast with the Seven Heads, “are seven kings: Five have fallen, one is and one will come. *(The Beast) that was, and is not (in the first century AD)—he himself is the eighth, and is one of the seven (kings).”

Was evil Antiochus one of the previously fallen five—now come again (somehow) as the eighth? Ironically, Antiochus-Epiphanies IV was also the eighth king (175-163 BC) of the Seleucid Empire (Flavius Josephus, Antiquities 12)—one of the four branches of Alexander’s old Empire. Most of them are considered (in Israel’s viewpoint) kings of the north.

Daniel (11) lists the traits of a succession of the kings of the north, leading up to someone who sounds very much like him—although he is not the “contemptible man” who sets in motion the abomination of desolation at the very End of Days.

Daniel (11) covers much of the succession of those kings of the north—again, sounding much like the predecessors of Antiochus-Epiphanies IV. At one point, Daniel’s vision saw the king of the south, who will become strong, and “after some years” form an alliance with the king of the north. The kings of the south gives him his daughter—a common political practice of the old world—but “she will not retain her position and power, nor will his strength endure”.

Flavius Josephus, the first century historian, (Antiquities 12.4.154; 222; 236) says of the predecessors of Antiochus-Epiphanies IV: one was Antiochus III “the great”; the sixth king of the dynasty. He, indeed, made a treaty with Ptolemy in Egypt, and Ptolemy gave to him his daughter Cleopatra—in this way the kings of the north obtained Judea, Phoenicia, and Samaria. Her Ptolemaic line was the last Egyptian Dynasty to exist.

Dan (11) continues with the king following Antiochus III, who sends out a tax collector; but he was “destroyed, yet not in anger or in battle. Josephus writes that Hyrcanus succeeded Antiochus III, as the 7th king. Indeed, when he when across the Jordan, he obliged them to pay taxes. This upset many people of the area, who complained to the ruling powers in Jerusalem. They summoned Antiochus-Epiphanies IV, who will become the 8th king of that northern dynasty (Josephus Antiq. 12).

Dan (11) *The king who sends out a tax collector was “destroyed, yet not in anger or in battle. Indeed, Josephus writes that after seeing Antiochus IV’s army, Hyrcanus feared —and committed suicide. In 175 BC, when Antiochus’ predecessor died from suicide (Antiq. 12.4.234) he became the eighth king and absorbed his predecessor’s territory—which included Babylon and the surrounding areas.

Antiochus-Epiphanies IV settled in Syrian Antioch, taking it as his capital, circa 175 BC. It is interesting to note that in that city, a little over two centuries later, the term ‘Christian’ (rather than ‘The Way’ or ‘the Nazarene sect’) stemmed from the congregation, there (Acts 11:26).

About two years into Antiochus IV’s reign, Babylon was rebuilt (circa 173BC). Some say he went to the Far East afterwards. Antiochus soon came against the king of the south, Ptolemy of Egypt—however, the Romans now had them as vassals; and they threatened Antiochus (Antiq. 12.5). Antiochus IV turned back. Dan (7, 8, 11): The small horn (king) grew in power to the south and East and Beautiful Land (Israel).

Dan (11) parallels: He went against the southern king, “but reports from the North and East will alarm him and he sets out in great rage to annihilate many.” Perhaps this is where Revelation (6) comes into play about the man of the End Time: The rider on the white horse had a bow, and a crown was given to him. He went out as a conqueror so that he might conquer.

Dan (11): *He invades “the kingdom” (referring to Judea?) when it feels secure, seizing it through intrigue. (Perhaps here, he comes in peace?) *He will achieve what his fathers nor his fathers did. *He will confirm a covenant with many—but in the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. *He invades the richest providences when they feel secure *He is a master of intrigue.

Dan (11): The man of the End *comes when rebels are completely wicked *He is a stern-faced ruler *is not considered royalty *with flattery he corrupts those who violate the covenant. Romans (12): *Due to his covert intrigue, the Man of Lawlessness’ goes largely undetected “by those who were already perishing” *his lawlessness thrives among Unbelievers, whom he easily deceives “because they refused to love the truth” (within God’s laws).

Dan (11): *War will continue until the End, when desecration has been decree. Dan (8): “This vision concerns the Time of the End.” Luke (21); 2 Thess (2); Mark (13): *He oppresses the saints. *you will hear of Wars and Revolutions. Rev. (7) These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation—and some will be martyred because of their testimony of Yeshua, the Lamb. Revelation (13): *He wars with the kedoshim (people of God) *has permission to overcome them *“Here is the perseverance of the saints.”

Dan (11) *Those who are wise instruct many. But some of the wise fall by sword, or are captured. (Some will be captivated by his smooth words), as confirmed by Romans 12: the “Great Falling Away”. (We see this happening time and again, as major mainstream preachers (modern shepherds) fall prey to the deceptive wickedness in the world, and lead their flocks to do likewise.) 2 Thess (2): *He has wicked deception. Dan (11) He *causes deceit to prosper Daniel (11) *He shows favor to those who follow him *is successful until his wrath is complete.

Ezekiel (38); Rev (20) *Say to Gog: This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘In that day, when you see my people living in safety, will you not take notice of it?’ Daniel (8): *He comes at his appointed time *because of the rebellion *truth was trampled on the ground *and is successful in whatever he does.

Josephus (Antiq. 12.9.362) writes of when Antioch-Epiphanies IV entered Jerusalem, “He established a citadel called Acra.” The ‘citadel’ was a “garrison in the ancient citadel…(and) the citadel adjoined to and overlooked the Temple” on the north side of the Temple (Antiq. 15.11.403). It was, so-to-speak, a pre-Antonia fortress, which “concealed the Temple when viewed from the north” (Wars 5.5.246; Antiq 15.11.409).

(Note: A HILL, also called Acra, was the area to the south of the Temple, below present-day Temple Mount, and include the “city of David” excavation areas. (Josephus Wars 5.4.137-139): THAT Acra was scraped from the top and used as fill for the spot above it; creating the level foundation for the First Temple (circa 984 BC). So, these are two separate Acras: one a citadel, the other a hill—on opposite sides of the Temple Mount.)

Dan (9): And on the wing of the Temple, he will set up an abomination that causes Desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.

We learn from Revelation (chapters 17-19) that one called “Mystery Babylon” exists in the End—a “city figuratively called ‘Sodom & Gomorrah’”—who sat upon the many waters; and the nations hated her *a den for demons, a haunt for unclean spirits *drunk with the wine of the earth’s kings *nations, merchants of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her *the mother of prostitutes *drunk with the blood of the prophets and the kedoshim, the witnesses of Yeshua *she “rode” upon the Beast having seven heads and ten horns.

Is “she” the evil world, in general—or truly a city? Maybe; we can not at this point be sure. However, since the Lord calls to His people: “Come out of her (“Mystery Babylon”) My people…so that you will not receive any of her plagues—and we know the world receives the final Bowls of Wrath plagues in the End, we can only assume. Nor do we know at this time, the identity of the Beast of a man who sets in motion the abomination that causes desolation, until he has revealed—but be watchful.

The End comes when rebellion against God has approached it’s near-boiling point, and many fell prey to his deception. Could this deception be the embodiment of all that Liberalism and Leftists of the world have taken a stand? How much of that is Anti-God’s Law (Lawlessness) and “Woke” values? Has what was called “Good” now seen as “evil” —by those people who fell prey to this way “modern, ever-increasing way of thinking.

Do values, supported by God’s WORD from antiquity, now called “hate speech, dogmatic rhetoric, and outdated” if you say them? Yes. Rev (13): *all on earth will worship the image of the First Beast—those whose names have NOT been written in the Book of Life. Are the people who HAVE BEEN written in the Book of Life being silenced, almost daily, as we speak? Yes.

Did Messiah Yeshua tell his followers: “Do violence unto others, because you won’t get justice any other way.” No. He said, “When they strike you on the cheek, turn unto them the other side, also.” Did Yeshua say to sinners, “God loves you; so, go ahead, keep sinning. His Laws are only a suggestion, not a rule.” No. He said, “God loves you. Your sins are forgiven. Go and sin no more.” Did he say, “It’s your body; it’s your choice to do whatever you want with it.” No. He said, “Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.”

When his cousin John came baptizing, he said, “Repent and be baptized…” Of Yeshua, he told them, “I come baptizing in water, but the one coming after me will baptize you with fire” (the Holy Spirit of God).” John’s immersion was willful a sign of repentance on the part of the person hearing his message to “return to God” that they intended on following God. Messiah Yeshua came, “to fulfill all righteousness” John the baptizer said, “I need to be baptized by YOU!” John told the converts near him, “Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.”

Yeshua’s life was more than a model of how to live; because he was more than a prophet, healer, Son of Man, Teacher. He is “the gate for the sheep and His the Good Shepherd; Follow me; I am the Light. All who live in darkness are afraid to come to the Light, fearing their deeds be exposed; (but) I am the Life.”

Antiochus IV lived a few centuries earlier that Yeshua. Antiochus’ birth name was Mithradates. Mithraism was a Roman “mystery religion”; inspired by the sun-god deity (yazata) of Zoroastrianism. It is based on Mithras, and his birth name reflects the ancient sun-god deity. However, Mithras appears on a cuneiform tablet, attesting to a treaty between the Hittites and Mitanni, circa 1500-1400 BC—a date far earlier than modern Zoroastrianism, or even Antiochus IV’s “mystery religion.” Mithras became synonymous with “treaties, contracts and oaths”.

Antiochus was known as a mediator of some-sort. It seems likely that Daniel’s vision of the covenant (7,9,11) relates to a mediated agreement; perhaps made early-on in the covertly evil man’s career. Especially since we know that in the middle “of the seven”—at the “times, time and half a time” mark, he breaks the (Dan 9) “covenant made with many for one week”. Revelation’s (13,12,11) also seems to separate his time, and confirm the “seven” (as years) by the use of “42 months”and “1260 days (twice used).

These periods represent respectively, that of: the Beast out of the Sea (Abyss), the time the woman who gave birth to the male child caught up to Heaven and is kept safe; and the other “1260 days” belongs to the Two Witnesses, who preach boldly (and towards the end of their appointed time, they are in Jerusalem when the Beast out of the Sea seems to be given his “throne”.) *The Two were granted 1260 days (three and one-half years, counted by the 360 lunar day calendar) to witness unhindered, since they had the power to prevent rain to fall and consume their enemies with fire. Rev (11); Zechariah (4): *These are the two olive trees, and menorot standing before the Lord.

HOLD THAT THOUGHT.

Dan (11): The king of the “north” *greatly honors those who honor him *and distributes the land for a price *He invades many countries with a large army & navy *He attacks (and conquers) with the help of a foreign god *and rises to power with only a few people *plots to overthrow fortresses and distribute wealth among his followers *will take action against (the holy covenant) and return to his own country.

Josephus says that after being in Judea, Antiochus-Epiphanies IV plundered much and then returned to his capital in Antioch—his own country. There, the Hellenistic-polytheist Antiochus-Epiphanies IV continued in pagan worship, which also included (according to one source) Hinduism that he learned in the Far East.

Dan (11): At the appointed time, (the king of the “north”) invades the South again, but this time the results will be different *Ships of the West will oppose him *he returns (north?) to vent his fury against the holy covenant.

Dan (11) At the time of the End, the king of the South comes against the king of the North, so he storms out with rage *And due to the many plots devised against the southern king *an overwhelming army will be swept away *both it and a prince of the agreement will be destroyed *Egypt, Libya and Nubia fall to him. The King of the North’s very powerful army overcomes the south & gains treasures of gold, silver and all their riches.

Joel (2) Blow the trumpet in Zion, sound the alarm on the holy hill…a day of darkness and gloom (an army like locust)…nothing escapes them…they charge like warriors. Luke (21): “Look at (the trees), when they sprout you know summer is near; so too when you see these things happen, the Kingdom of God is near…be alert, on watch and pray you will be able to escape all that is to happen, to be able to stand before the Son of Man.” Matt. (24); Rev (16) *The Lord says: ‘Behold, I come like a thief…No one knows the day or the hour…Stay awake…’

Mark (13): When you see standing in the Holy Place ‘the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of by Daniel—let the reader understand—let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Luke (21): When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies know that its desolation is near. Matthew (24): *when you see the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.

Dan (11): *The king of the “north” greatly honors those who honor him. (Dan 11): *He attacks the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god (the Dragon/Satan) *He enters the Beautiful Land and *pitches his tent between the seas at the Holy Mountain *He shows favor to those who forsake the holy covenant *He says unheard-of things against the God of gods. *(but) will come to his end with no one to help him.

So far, he sounds like most any sort of conqueror of the pagan world…

Historians say that between Antiochus IV’s third and fourth year on the throne (172-171 BC), he came again to Jerusalem. When Antiochus-Epiphanies IV returned, he stormed the city having come “pretending peace.” Dan (9, 11): *Edom, Moab, Ammon (Jordan) was delivered from his hand. Josephus says Antiochus’ own “party” opened the gates to him (Antiq. 15.247). Daniel (9): *After having had an agreement with a prince of the covenant, *he acts deceitfully *the people of the ruler destroys the city (Jerusalem) and the sanctuary.

After Antiochus IV entered Jerusalem, he slaughtered 80,000 people in a space of three days, and the rest (of his non-allies) were sold as slaves. He then reinstalled a wicked high-priest, who had defected to him, after his ousting years earlier. In the north, that priest forsook Torah, and the laws of God and the land. He adopted Antiochus’ paganism, and being reinstalled, the wicked priest allowed him to “carry away” (remove?) the sacrifice and Temple articles (Antiq. 12.249-50).

Revelation (13,11,17): *the Beast (of the Sea/Abyss, who once was) was given authority over every tribe, and people and tongue. *he was given authority by the Dragon, and a throne for 42 months. (Dan 9): *in the middle of the ‘seven’; he (ends the) covenant made with many for one ‘week’. The “middle” is often interpreted to three and one half-years based upon Daniel’s (7) use of the phrase, “time, times and half-a time” and the book of Revelation’s (11,12,13) use of “42 months”and “1260 days (twice used)—that being the time of the Woman who gave birth to the male child, caught heavenward” and the Two Witnesses.

HAVING HELD YOUR THOUGHT ABOUT THE TIME OF THE TWO WITNESSES…

Rev (11): *When the Two Witnesses FINISH their testimony “in the city where also their LORD was crucified”, the one who arises from the Abyss will make war on them and kill them *They lay, unburied, in the streets of Jerusalem *the evil world celebrates their deaths by giving one another gifts *but these two arise after three and one-half days—called heavenward *and the world was amazed (also see Zech 4; Jer 5; Ps 79; Eze 37 & 38).

Rev (13,11): *the Beast of the Sea (Abyss; “who once was”) was given authority over every tribe, and people and tongue. *he was given authority by the Dragon, and a throne for 42 months. How might the beginning of his authority/throne time, and end of the era of the two witnesses’ relate to Daniel (11)? “‘How long until the end of the wonderful things?’ The man in linen standing above the waters raised both hands and swore an oath, for ‘a time, times and half a time’ (three and one-half years).” *many will run to and fro *knowledge will increase *then, WHEN the breaking of the power of the holy people comes to an end, all these things will be finished.

Rev (11): The two witnesses’ power to preach unhindered ended when the Beast killed them. They lay dead for three and one-half days. For Jews of the time, it would have seemed impossible that life could enter them, since “the spirit only lingers around for three days.” The would have been among the world, who were *amazed as they were resurrected. When these Two Witnesses were called heavenward, *a tenth of the city collapsed *7000 people were killed *and there was a great earthquake.

While there have been many earthquakes in the the area, one in the Bible stands out to me. There was an earthquake in the city in the first century, when Yeshua was crucified and gave up His spirit. Matthew (27): *the curtain of the Temple split in two, from top to bottom *the earth quaked and rocks split apart *the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the kedoshim (God’s faithful) who were sleeping were raised to LIFE *coming forth out of their tombs after Yeshua’s resurrection, they appeared to many in the city.

Know this: (1 Thess 4:15-16) “We who are alive at the coming of the Lord shall in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel and a blast of God’s shofar and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. Dan (11): “You, Daniel, seal up the prophecy of this book…at the End of Days, you will arise to take your inheritance.”

Revelation (13): The Beast of the Sea’s associate is the Beast of the Earth, someone of the Temple, later identified as the False Prophet; he deceives using signs and causes fire from heaven. The writers of the Dead Sea scrolls called him “the wicked priest”, while they call the Beast of the Sea (king of the “north”) the “Man of the Lie”; an “Angel of the Pit”. Together they reek havoc, empowered by satanthe “Prince of Malevolence” —elsewhere known in the Dead Sea Scrolls as “Melki-Resha” or “ruler of wickedness”.

Notably, from the Scrolls we learn that their followers are “Kittim” and collectively, “Belial”. Note also that some of the ones who fell prey to their deception (in Jerusalem and the world) include “the family of Absalom” and “forsakers of the New Covenant”. (The New Covenant is a New Testament term of Messiah Yeshua’s mission.)

In the Dead Sea Scrolls, Messiah is known as “The Teacher of Righteousness” (elsewhere called “Melchizedek”). Also reference Psalm 110 and Hebrews 7. The “Man of the Lie” (the one we research) is the arch-enemy of the Messiah in the Scrolls; so we have the complete picture of the anti-Christ standing in opposition to Christ in the End—well before the New Testament was written and the term “New Covenant” became widespread (DSS: Temple Scroll, The Vision of Amram, Commentary on Habakkuk, War scroll, Damascus Document, et.al.).

Matt (24): *(Coming is a time of) such great trouble; and no one would be delivered, but for the sake of the chosen, those days will be cut short. Rev (13): The Beast was *permitted to make war with them *and overcome them. Dan (7): “As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and defeating them until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgement in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom”. 1 Thess 4:16 “(Then) we who are left alive will be called up to heaven with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.”

2 Thess (2) “Be not deceived: The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and our being GATHERED to him…will not come UNTIL the rebellion occurs and the Man of Lawlessness is revealed, exalting himself over everything called ‘God’ or is worshipped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” As the Dead Sea scrolls also call him the “Man of the Lie” and Truth exists only in Yeshua, the WORD of God, we see clearly the picture of the anti-Christ as “the Man of Lawlessness”— a law unto himself, not respecting any god; and thus “Anti-God’s Law. He favors those who favor him, thus they are rebellious against God, and this evil man’s followers.

Dan (11): Daniel (7) “While the little horn (the Beast of a man) was speaking, the Thrones in Heaven were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His place. The Court was seated and the Books were opened. The Son of Man approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence. He was given all authority, glory and sovereign power. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed…The end of the matter is decided.”

Despite the fact (Dan 11) *his armed forces desecrate the temple fortress and *he honors a god of fortresses *his armed forces abolish the daily sacrifice *he magnifies himself as god *honors & worships a god his fathers did not know *shows no regard for any god. His associate, (Rev 13): *The Beast of the Earth (False Prophet) enlists all forsakers of the holy covenant to set up an idol to be worshipped. The False Prophet then made the image live speak, and thus he was able to “live”, and continue his blasphemous actions in Jerusalem. Ezekiel (8) *the abomination stands north of the gate of the altar. *Abominations went on inside the temple *among them were 70 men of the elders of the house of Israel *“Outside were men bowing eastward, away from the Temple”.

Dan (11): *He sets himself up as Prince of the host—but he is NOT Messiah, Prince of the angels. He is the anti-Christ *creating his own laws. Dan (11); Rev (17,13); et.al.: *a contemptible man, *the last king of the “north”; *the one coming up from the Abyss; *the “Lawless One *Man of the Lie” *Man of Lawlessness. Noted also as (Rev 17): *the eighth king of the “north” *He is (of the seven horns/kings) of the fiery Beast/Dragon *Of those seven (kings): “Five have fallen, one IS (Rome?), the other was not yet (Ottoman Empire?)—and he himself is the eighth king”. Rev (13) His associate is a wicked priest, the “False Prophet” doing signs, who uses his minions to make an idol, which he brings to “life”. Rev (17): *THEY (the kings/ his allies and followers) “are of one mind”. When he returns near the “middle of the seven”, it explains why (Rev 11): *the court outside the Temple of God (in the End) was given over to the nations (Gentiles); and THEY shall trample the city for 42 months.

History is a mirror. Antiochus-Epiphanies IV can be a mere shadow of what stands before us—a vague image of what will come. As for Mithrates/Antiochus-Epiphanies IV, his throne name, “Epiphanies”, means “a god Manifest”—but Antiochus IV is not the man Daniel saw through several visions/prophecies, although many of his actions might mirror or be that shadow of what will be fulfilled again in the End. While he built an idol upon God’s Altar, where he slew swine (an animal detestable to Judaism—and Islam); he certainly went beyond fulfilling his pagan birth name, “Mithrates”. He existed in the second century BC, centuries after Daniel’s prophecies—but it is now the twenty-first century AD. While scoffers ignore the prophecies and say, “the world will go on forever”, their statement shows disrespect for the Word of God and proves their allegiance. The world certainly will NOT go on forever, and we have been forewarned to “watch” for these signs.

Daniel asks of his first two visions concerning the man of the End, “How long do these things last?” Daniel (8): *the sanctuary will be re-conscreated in 2300 evenings and mornings. (Six years and three months, using the 360 day lunar calendar of his time.) This implies (since no Temple exists now), that one will be consecrated 2300 days prior to it being “vindicated” in the End. This falls nine months short of the prophetic seven-year implication. Does the lack of nine months suggest the span of time from the covenant (assuming he is like Antiochus, who mediated and established Acra at the beginning of his reign) until a tabernacle can be consecrated. A tent, as in the wilderness, could serve as a forerunner to the Last Temple existing on the Mount in Jerusalem. Could the consecration happen within nine months of a covenant, to be Re-consecrated when Messiah rids the evil? Logistically, YES—Hebraically speaking.

Rev (14): The first angel declared the eternal gospel to those who live on earth.

Isaiah (63): (My people) will call on My Name and I will call them ‘My people’…(They will call out to Me), “Return for the sake of your servants.” He said, ‘Surely they are My people…and so I will become their Savior. In all their distress, He too was distressed…They rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; then they turned and recalled the days of Moses. “Where is he who shepherds the flock?” This is how You led them through the depths…For a little while Your people possessed Your Holy Place, but now our enemies have trampled down the sanctuary. Rev (18): “Come out of her, my people; lest you participate in her sins and receive her plagues”.

Rev (14): A second angel followed, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon”.

Dan (11): *At the appointed time, Michael, the great prince who protects your people will arise *everyone whose name is found written in the book will be delivered. Rev (13): *the book is from the foundation of the world, the Book of Life of the Lamb (Yeshua) who was slain. Zechariah (13): There will be a fountain …to cleanse them from sin…“What are these wounds on Your body?” “The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.” Zechariah (12-13): “And I will pour out on the House of David grace and supplication…they will look upon me, the one they have pierced, and weep…as in the plain of Megiddo. Rev (7): (Cleansed) No lie was found in their mouths.

Rev (14): there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion *and with Him 144,000 redeemed of the earth. Rev (7): 12000 of each of the 12 tribes, who were sealed with their Father’s Name). Psalm (2): “‘I have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill…You are my Son; today I have become your Father…Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up at any moment. Blessed are those who take refuge in him”. Psalm (110): “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at my Right Hand until I make your enemies your footstool..you are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek” *he will crush the kings on the Day of His Wrath.

Matt (24); Mark (13): *Many will come saying, ‘The Messiah is out in the desert, or over there—don’t believe them’. Be not deceived, *the Son of Man’s coming will be visible to everyone; coming in the clouds with all his angels. Rev (19) *heaven stood open and there before me was a rider on a white horse, whose name was ‘faithful and True’ *He has on him a name no one knows *Out of his mouth comes a two edged sword, by which he slays the nations *He will rule with an iron scepter forever *the armies of heaven followed him *On his robe and thigh was written ‘Lord of lords and King of kings’.

Rev (16): six Bowls of wrath were poured out on the world. With the sixth, the evil spirits of the Dragon, Beast and False Prophet gathered the kings and the whole world together, for the battle on the Great Day of the Lord.

Rev (19); Dan (9) *(The stern-faced king) takes his stands against the Prince of Princes, yet he will be broken—but not by human hands. *the Beast was captured, along with the False Prophet, who had performed the signs by which he deceived those who had the mark of the beast, *(they) were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the One riding on the horse as well as those who had worshipped his image *the Beast and the False Prophet were thrown into the fiery lake of burning fire. Dan (7): *the beast was slain and destroyed, thrown into the blazing fire.

Rev (20) *the Dragon was bound. Awhile later, *the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire where the Beast and the False Prophet had been thrown—where they will be tortured day and night, forever and ever. Rev (21): *The books were opened and the dead were judged *then death and Sheol were thrown into the lake of fire *this is the second death *anyone found not written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Rev (22): *Do not seal the words of this prophecy of this book, for the time is near.

Rev (1): I, am the Alpha and Omega, says Adonai Elohim, ‘Who is and was and who is to come, the Almighty’ *‘I, Yeshua (Jesus), have sent my angel to testify to you for my communities’. *’I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star…Yes, I am coming soon’ (also see Proverbs 30:3-4; Job 16:19-20; Isaiah 9:1-8).

Rev (19) How fortunate are those invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb (bridegroom). Rev (22): *The testimony of Yeshua is the Spirit of Prophecy *The Spirit and the Bride say, Come! WHOEVER is thirsty come—let the one who wishes freely take the water of Life (Rev 22:17; Ps 36:8-9). @achadpeace
